Rideshare Challenge a Success!
The Mayor's Rideshare Challenge 2008 ended July 1 with over 1,500 registered Metro Rideshare users, far exceeding the goal of 1,000 users. The Metropolitan Area Planning Agency (MAPA) would like to thank Mayor Mike Fahey's Office, the Sierra Club, and the Omaha Chamber of Commerce for their support of the program.

MAPA and the Metro Rideshare Team would also like to thank and recognize the following companies, communities, and organizations for being a part of the Friends of Metro Rideshare Partnership Program. The success of Metro Rideshare would not be possible without the support of our partners!

Have you seen our signs?
The City of Omaha and the Iowa Department of Transportation recently posted our informational road-side signs.  More and more commuters are now registering each day thanks to these signs located throughout Omaha and Western Iowa.

What is MetrO! Rideshare?
MetrO! Rideshare is a free, quick and secure service that connects commuters throughout the Metropolitan Omaha Region who are interested in carpooling.  Simply create a new account and profile and MetrO! Rideshare will automatically search for carpool matches according to your commuting preferences.

Carpooling helps to save money on fuel costs and vehicle wear and tear.  Having someone to share the ride with can also be fun and relaxing.  And by carpooling you are helping to reduce our dependence on oil and decrease pollution in the Omaha metro area.

To calculate your potential savings, go to the savings calculator!
